Google or Bing?

Following hot on the tails of Bing, Google have added a background image to their search page.  If you have a Google login you can choose an alternative image from your computer or from any images uploaded to your Picassa web space.  Images must be at least 800 x  600 pixels in size.

 Unfortunately many of the images make some of the text hard to read and worst of all, there seems to be no way to turn the image off unless you upload an off-white background, (a pure white background no-longer works as the text colour has changed)

But with the right background shade, some basic photoshop skills and a bit of inspiration anybody can customise their Google homepage now. (see below!)
